Private power poles and pillars deliver electricity from the grid to your door. You, as the property owner, are responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the poles, wiring and cabling. It is also up to the owner of the property to ensure the poles are safe and cables are run correctly to your house. If there is an issue or  fault with the overheads or poles a defect notice maybe issued and you will be required to have the fault rectified immediately.

A private power pole is a pole that the owner maintains. It is connected to the grid through what is called a point of attachment. A private power pole may be used by multiple houses but usually only one. A private power pole allows the home owner the choice of delivering the power to any place. The common place is the main electrical switchboard, where it is than relayed to any area of the house.

Private Power Poles require an annual inspection to ensure the are in good condition and pose no risk of damage or electrocution.
